I have been wanting to do a Stampin’ Alphabet series for a while now. I took inspiration from Sue Allen, an Aussie demo, a couple of months back. I almost all of the letters assigned, except for Z. Thankfully, Z will be 26 weeks from now so hopefully, an appropriate Z word will come to me by then.
Let’s start with Adhesives. Stampin’ up! does offer a number of adhesives that each serve a different purpose. You can choose just one if you want. I use all of them at different times.
SNAIL is your basic double-sided permanent adhesive. It is my go-to adhesive to adhere Designer Series Paper to cardstock.
Multipurpose Liquid Glue, also fondly called Tombow, has become my second most used adhesive over the past year. I used to avoid it because I would get sticky from it. It is fantastic to use when layering cardstock because it gives you a small bit of time to work with the paper to get the layout just right. I find that it also works better when adhering a textured piece of cardstock. Tombow is also a great adhesive to use when creating 3D projects – you get a little bit of wiggle room and then they are stuck for good.
Stampin’ Dimensionals are double-sided adhesive foam dots that add depth and dimension to your projects. They also come in a mini size for smaller pieces. The Foam Adhesive Strips are thicker long strips of the same foam that can be used for shaker cards.
I love me some Mini Glue Dots! I use them for holding ribbon and heavier embellishments. Got a little something moving around, stick it with a glue dot.
Tear & Tape adhesive is a super-strong adhesive that is fantastic for boxes and 3D items. I used it in this example to adhere to ornaments together in a spinner card.
The Fine-Tip Glue Pen is most fabulous when you need to adhere delicate die cuts and embellishments. The fine tip on the glue pen makes it easy to be precise. Just make sure you close the lid! I close it frequently — apply a bit of glue, close the lid, then adhere the piece on.
