Product of the Month Blog Hop: Begonia Bell Stamp Set - Bonnie Sanche

I have a story about how this card came to be created, but first, let’s see the card.

And now on to the story!

I have been working with a group of demonstrators to create a Product of the Month tutorial to give to our customers. I had seen a fun fold that I wanted to use; I just had to decide what colours to use. Whenever I am searching for colour combinations, I look at Stampin’ Up!’s Colour Coach, where I found this amazing colour combo of Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo and Pretty Peacock.

While I was finishing that card, I was attending one of our regular team meetings on Zoom, where my team leader shares a sketch challenge for us to try. She does this every meeting, and it’s always a fun way to stretch our creativity. But if I’m being honest, I haven’t played along in quite a while.

This meeting was different.

As I looked over at my desk, I realized all the supplies I needed were already sitting there. No searching for stamps. No digging through paper. No deciding which embellishments to use. Everything was within arm’s reach.

So I decided to join the challenge.

Before the meeting was over, I had finished my card.

It reminded me of something important: creativity doesn’t always require a big block of uninterrupted time. Sometimes it just takes saying “yes” to the moment that’s right in front of you.

Having my supplies already on my desk removed one of the biggest obstacles: the setup.

Instead of spending my creative energy deciding what to use, I spent it actually creating.

A Little Challenge for You

The next time you finish a project, don’t put everything away right away. Leave a few coordinating supplies on your workspace. The next time you have 20 or 30 minutes—even while listening to a meeting, a podcast, or your favourite music—you might find yourself creating something beautiful.

You don’t need perfect conditions.

You don’t need hours of free time.

You just need to choose your supplies…and use them.
